SkillsUSA: Champions at Work
Skilled and Motivated

The topic to be addressed by contestants in the Chapter Display, Prepared Speech and Promotional Bulletin Board contests is how our slogan, SkillsUSA: Champions at Work, relates to our national program of work in the area of Professional Development.

2012 Contest Book & Calendar

Enclosed are the newly revised Contest Schedule and Supplemental Rules for all State Contests. Registration payment must be submitted with your registration on February 8, 2012. The fee is $15.00 per student.

It is important to note that the rules in the state book should be used with the National Standards that each of you should have on file. All contests will include work-place readiness skills, which can be found in PDP 1 and 2. New orders of PDP should be in your schools as of the writing of this memo. Students should have completed these books prior to competition. This book is published electronically and you should have no problem printing out pages for your teachers. Please be sure this info is used in preparation of your in-house contests in January. Please note that rating sheets are included for those contests that have standard rating sheets developed for each state contest.

The PDP test will not count towards the contestant’s final score. The PDP test will only be counted as a tiebreaker. The PDP test is given in all contests except Action Skills. As always, if you have any questions, please contact me at 825-2316. Thank you!
