Hello All:

Please see the attached press release that went out regarding the National Leadership and Skills Conference.  Since we are not having a summer CTE meeting, I wanted to share some of the highlights from the 2009 -2010 school year.

SkillsUSA RI Membership: 6,365 (Our highest ever)
SkillsUSA RI Championships: 650 registered competitors
3 new competitions
325 Business, Industry, and Education volunteers

2010 National Conference: 100 members of the RI delegation
70 student competitors
30 students placing in the top ten nationally
3 National Medalists

State Leadership Conferences saw participation increases in both the Fall and the Spring.
SkillsUSA RI Alumni Association: 512 registered alumni
College Scholarship opportunities decreased, however unrestricted money for travel scholarships went up.

The 2010 -2011 school year brings us into our 35th anniversary. I look forward to breaking more records and shining the spotlight on RI CTE. Thank you to all of our supporters for their hard work and dedication to the SkillsUSA program and the students enrolled in career and technical education.
