I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Kristen J. Smith and I am currently serving as your Region 1 Representative for the SkillsUSA Alumni Association, on the Alumni Coordinating Committee. I have served as a local, state and national officer.  I have also worked with SkillsUSA Rhode Island as a State Officer Team Manager and Alumni Coordinator. My goals were far exceeded last year with an increase from 25 Alumni members in the state of Rhode Island to 573 Members.  My goal this year is to reach out to past and graduating students and reach 700 members Annually in the State of Rhode Island.

Do you realize SkillsUSA has served over 9.5 million students and advisors in the past 40 years? However, our Alumni Association currently only represents 7,500 of those previous members. My goal for our region is to increase our membership to well over 10,000 annual alumni members. It is very important to the SkillsUSA association to maintain contact with our former members and to present our alumni with continued services and resources as they leave their mark on our world. It is an important factor to our organization to be able to provide these services, that is why we are offering the annual membership FREE to all new members.

As a part of the Alumni and Friends Association you will receive monthly updates from the national office. Also as part of Team Rhode Island, I Kristen Smith, will contact you periodically notifying you of the events happening in Rhode Island. Also, we are looking for volunteers for events, networking opportunities for our students, or donations to help support our programs. 

SkillsUSA Rhode Island has over 530 register Alumni. We are the second highest in the country. We want to increase that number and with your help we can do that.
