Our middle school programming allows students to focus on career exploration, while also developing their self-esteem, leadership, and teamwork abilities. Additionally, starting a chapter at your school provides students with the opportunity to learn about local Career and Technical Education programs, and how this pathway will guide them towards a successful future.SkillsUSA RI Annual Championships middle school members are encouraged to participate in 2 SkillsUSA RI competitive events.

Team Engineering Challenge

  • Open to active SkillsUSA RI members, this contest is designed and judged by industry members. Teams of 3 students will solve a problem using engineering concepts and ideas. The purpose of this contest is to recognize students for their excellence and professionalism in the areas of creative and critical thinking. This contest fosters creativity, innovation, team work, and problem solving skills.
  • The Gold Medalist team will move on to represent Rhode Island and the National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.
  • Contact the SkillsUSA RI leadership team for contest guidelines
